Funeral services for William David "Bill" Phillips will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Abell Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Bradley officiating. Burial will follow in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. Viewing will be held from 10:00 am until service time. Bill died March 19, 2024 in Lubbock, TX. He was born December 9, 1969 in Clarksville, TN. He was raised in Batesville, TX by his parents, Ted and Betty Caballero. He married Bobbie Ann Lopez, June 5, 1999 in Canon City, CO. They moved to Abernathy in August of 2022 from Pflugerville, TX. Bill loved studying the Bible and conducting Bible research. He enjoyed teaching others and sharing what he would find. Bill's favorite scripture was Isaiah 40:31 “But those who wait on Yehovah our God renew their strength, they raise up the wings like eagles, they run and are not weary, they walk and do not faint.” He enjoyed anything that took him outside from working in his yard, fishing, camping but most of all spending time with his grandchildren, flying kites with them and just being outdoors. He loved spending family time, whether that was barbecuing or family events. Bill worked overnight with HEB for 17 years where he had planned to retire. Bill is survived by his wife, Bobbie Phillips of Abernathy, 4 children, Preston Phillips and Miranda Browning both of Hutto, TX and Joshua Phillips and Amanda Phillips both of Canon City, CO, 2 grandchildren, Tristan and Cambree Browning of Hutto, TX, parents, Ted and Betty Caballero of Batesville, TX, 2 brothers, Mikel Phillips and Shannon Caballero both of Batesville, TX, a sister Tina Caballero of Batesville, TX and numerous nieces and nephews.
