Funeral services for Wilma Brown, 96, of Hale Center, TX were held at 3:00 pm Saturday, July 31, 2004, in the Hale Center Church of Christ with Charles Cook officiating. Burial followed in the Plainview Cemetery under the direction of Freeman-Abell Funeral Home of Hale Center, TX. Mrs. Brown died Thursday, July 29, 2004, in Hale Center, TX. She was born June 21, 1908 in Campbell, TX. She married Robert H. Brown , July 5, 1927 in Clovis, N.M. He preceded her in death February 11, 1955. She was a member of the Hale Center Church of Christ. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, 4 brothers, 4 sisters, a grandson, Chuck Colson and a great great grandson, John Bilberry. She is survived by 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Shirley Brown, Jr. of Riverton, WY, Jim and Jeanine Brown of Humble, TX, 4 daughters and sons-in-law, Wilma Jean and Roy Martin of Waco, TX, Betty Jo and Carl Vick of Ft. Sumner, N.M., Pat and Clark Colson of Portales, N.M., Peggy and Dick Shaver of Hale Center, TX. She is also survived by a sister, Helen Dixon of Angelton, TX, 17 grandchildren 36 great grandchildren and 15 great great grandchildren. Abell Funeral Home
