Private family services for Willene McElhaney, 79, longtime resident of Plainview, TX, will be held at a later date in Oklahoma. Cremation services are under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Hale Center, TX. Mrs. McElhaney died Sunday, September 13, 2015, in Plainview, TX. She was born June 8, 1936 in Quinlin, TX to Joseph Hensley and Mona Marie (Howard) Chapin. She was raised in Quinlin and moved to Casa Grande, AZ, where she raised her children before moving to Plainview, TX. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. She loved Bluegrass music, and traveled extensively to follow the Bluegrass festivals. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee McElhaney. She is survived by 4 children, Kathy Henderson of Plainview, TX, Michael Forsyth of Wilcox, AZ, Glen Forsyth and Debby Forsyth both of Casa Grande, AZ, a brother, Orville Chapin of Garland, TX one sister, Murline Chapin of East, TX, 6 granddaughters and 11 great grandchildren.
