Vida Nabors

Memorial graveside services for Vida O. (Davis) Nabors, 87, of Abernathy, TX, will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, February 6th, 2016, in the Abernathy Cemetery with Rev. Janet Edwards, pastor of First United Methodist Church in Abernathy, officiating. Cremation and services are under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. Mrs. Nabors died Tuesday, February 2, 2016, in Lubbock, TX. She was born December 29, 1928 in Chelsea, OK to John H and Tennie Davis. She married John Alfred Nabors, November 2, 1947 in Abernathy, and he preceded her in death, August 9, 1996. She was a longtime Abernathy area resident and member of the First United Methodist Church where she had taught Sunday School Class. She was involved in Cub Scouts and 4-H as a parent leader. Vida was employed at Southwest Textiles prior to working at University Medical Center in Lubbock until her retirement in 2000. She is survived by a son, Gary Nabors of Stephenville, TX, a daughter, Lavoyce Nabors of Abernathy, 2 grandsons, Brandon Nabors and USMC, LCPL Tyler Nabors both of Stephenville, TX, and 1 brother, Arbra Davis of Roosevelt, TX.
