Velma O'Neill

Funeral services for Velma O'Neill, 76, of Abernathy, TX were held at 2:00 pm Saturday, December 29, 2007 in the First Baptist Church with Rev. John Lowrie and Rev. Mike O'Donnell officiating. Burial followed in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, TX. Mrs. O'Neill died Wednesday, December 26, 2007, in Lubbock, TX. She was born to George and Nora (Overman) Fuller on November 3, 1931 in Fannin County, TX. She married J. Charles O'Neill March 12, 1960 in Lubbock, TX, they have resided in Abernathy since that date. She was a member of the First Baptist Church where she was a member of the TEL Sunday School Class. She was a former member of the Abernathy Chamber of Commerce and had served on the Abernathy Industrial Board. She was preceded in death by a brother and 2 sisters. She is survived by her husband, J. Charles O'Neill of Abernathy, TX, 2 daughters, Mary O'Neill and David Gandy of Plainview, TX and Sara Muse and her husband Joe Michael of Lubbock, TX, a brother, G. D. Fuller of Bledsoe, TX, 2 grandchildren, Gordon and Makaela Muse of Lubbock, TX, numerous nieces and nephews.
