Services for Thelma A. Greer, 95, of Lubbock, TX were held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, May 3, 2006, in the Peaceful Gardens Chapel, Woodrow, TX with Rev. Dennis Teeters officiating. Burial followed in the Peaceful Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, TX. Ms. Greer died Saturday, April 29, 2006, in Lubbock, TX. She was born January 10, 1911 in Wilbarger County, TX. She was a housewife and lived in Lubbock, TX from 1952 until moving to San Antonio, TX in 1962 and back to Lubbock in 1991. She was a Baptist. She was preceded in death by a son, Alfred V. "Fred" Greer in 1969 and a daughter, LaVerne Pope, April 6, 2001. She is survived by a daughter, Shirley A. Norris of Oceanside, CA, a sister, LaVerne Lindsey of Lubbock, TX, 2 granddaughters, Dale Bea of Lubbock, TX and Jana Pope of Carrollton, TX and 3 great grandchildren, Caitlin and Jamie Hogge and Aidan Bea.
