Terry James Parkey, Sr.

Memorial services for Terry James Parkey, Sr., 64, of Abernathy, TX, will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, March 25, 2022 at Abell Funeral Home, 411 16th Street, Abernathy. Cremation and services are under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy. Mr. Parkey died in Lubbock, Thursday, March 3, 2022. He was born in Bellflower, CA, November 22, 1957 to Taylor J and Joyce Arlene (Carter) Parkey. He attended Hale Center schools, graduating from Hale Center High School in 1976. In July of 1979 he began working for Emco in Plainview, TX. In 1994 he began his own business in Plainview, Waste Systems, in 1996 he relocated the business to Lubbock, TX and in 2006 he moved the business to Abernathy. Terry married Bobbie Logan in Hale Center, September 13, 1980. He enjoyed all types of music and taking his grandchildren to Pecos, NM. In the later years, he enjoyed watching the older movies. Terry is survived by his wife, Bobbie Parkey of Abernathy, his mother, Joyce Parkey of Harlingen, TX, 2 sons, Terry Parkey, Jr, and Cory Parkey and wife Courtney all of Lubbock, 2 grandchildren, Zephyr and Abigail Parkey and a sister, Gail Cantu of Harlingen, TX.
