November 30, 1916 — March 24, 2004

Services for T. C. Clark, 86, of Hale Center, TX, were held Saturday, March 27, 2004, at 2:00 pm in the Hale Center Church of Christ with Silas Short officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Freeman-Abell Funeral Home. Mr. Clark died at his residence Wednesday, March 24, 2004. He was born October 28, 1917 in Silver Valley, TX. He married Vynomma Parks on December 20, 1940 in Post, TX. He received his masters from Sul Ross College and coached basketball and taught History in Merkel, TX. After serving in the Army Air Corps, during WWII, he and his wife settled in Aspermont, TX, where he returned to his career in education. He was later school administrator in Putnam, Post and Hale Center, TX. He worked in education for 53 years. He moved to Hale Center from Post in July of 1966 and was active in the Lions Club, served as an Elder at the Church of Christ and was named Citizen of the Year in 1991. He is survived by his wife, Vynomma of Hale Center, TX, One son, Tom Clark of College Station, TX, a daughter, Julie Heathington of O'Donnell, TX, a brother, Bryan Leland Clark of Dallas, TX, 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. One sister, Mary Phillips, preceded him in death in 1977. The family suggests memorials be sent to the Children's Home of Lubbock, Box 2824, Lubbock, TX 79408 or to the American Kidney Fund, 6110 Executive Blvd, Suite 1010, Rockville, MD 20852.
