Sue Henson

Services for Melba Sue Henson, 70, of Abernathy, TX, were held at 10:00 am Thursday, May 19, 2011, in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Joel Perez officiating. Graveside services were held at 2:00 pm in the Dickens Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home and Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. The family received friends at Abell Funeral Home Wednesday evening from 6:30 pm until 7:30 pm. Mrs. Henson died at her home Tuesday, May 17, 2011. She was born May 15, 1941, 1 of 16 children, and married Burrell Harper Conaway, he preceded her in death. She married Royce Henson on February 12, 1983 in Las Vegas, Nev. and he preceded her in death in 2005. She was employed as a nurse for Dr. Joe J. Horn in Plainview, TX for over 40 years, retiring in 2006. She had been a lifelong Abernathy area resident and a member of the Northside Baptist Church. She is survived by 7 children, Cynthia Pritchett, Tammie Drake, Cody and Bella Henson, Jan Zerwekh, Johny and Steve Henson, 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
