Silby Coombes

Services for Silby Coombes, 93, of Colorado Springs, Colo, and formerly of Abernathy, TX, will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, July 24, 2013 in the Abernathy Church of Christ. Burial will follow in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. She passed from this life to her eternal glory on July 18, 2013, at the home of her son, Paul in Colorado Springs, CO. She was born in Norman, OK February 19, 1920. She married L. J. Coombes on May 29, 1933 and moved to Abernathy in 1946. She is survived by a sister, Lorene Harris of Francis, OK a brother, Alfred Canfield of Maude, OK, two sons, Jerry and wife Sherry of Lubbock, TX and Paul of Colorado Springs, CO, two grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband L. J. Coombes and a son, Larry Coombes.
