Sammy Woods

Graveside services were held for Sammy Lee Woods, 82, of Round Rock, TX, will be held at 10:00 am Friday, June 24, 2011, in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home and Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. Mr. Woods died Sunday, June 19, 2011, in Round Rock, TX. He was born February 22, 1929 in Piney, TX. he married Sarah Laverne Manus on September 1952 in Naples, TX, and she preceded him in death. He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Abernathy. He is survived by his 5 daughters, Bertha Faulk, Shirley Woods and Kathy Woods all of Lubbock, TX, Priscilla Ritchie of Round Rock, TX and Felicia Woods of Hutto, TX, 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, and 5 half-brothers and sisters, Reese Caldwell and Carolyn Darty both of Lubbock, TX, Robert Woods of Abernathy, TX, Malcolm Woods of Crosbyton, TX and Pat Johnson of Dallas, TX.
