Memorial services for Ruby Mildred White, 95, of Abernathy, TX, will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, November 7, 2013, in the Abernathy First Baptist Church with Rev. Mike O'Donnell, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens at McAlester, OK. Mrs. White died Thursday, October 31, 2013, in Lubbock, TX. She was born November 13, 1917 in Winnsboro, TX to Manuel and Mary (Sanders) Slayton. She was the oldest of 5 children. She married William "Bill" White, September 17, 1949 in Indianola, OK. He preceded her in death. She worked in the Military Commissary during WWII while her husband was serving in the U. S. Army Police. She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
