Ruby Fay Booth

A Celebration of Life for Ruby Fay Booth, 81, of Slaton, TX and formerly of Abernathy, TX, were held Saturday, May 30, 2020 from 2:00pm until 4:00pm at the First Baptist Church in Wilson, TX. Cremation services were under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. Ruby Faye Booth was born December 14, 1938 in Brownfield, TX to Orbie Lee and Mary Lavelle (Holleman) Haney. She married Granville Lee Booth January 6, 1960. In the late 1960's they moved to Abernathy where she became one of the original members of Northside Baptist Church. She enjoyed serving others, whether it was by sewing, or being a caretaker. Ruby loved her friends and family, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Booth, 81, of Slaton, TX and formerly of Abernathy, TX, died Monday, May 25, 2020 in Lubbock. She was preceded in death by her husband, Granville Lee Booth, May 20, 2019, 3 brothers, Glynden, Bo and Dean Haney and a sister, Mary Kemp. She is survived by 2 children Gerri René Rackler and Kelly Bryant Booth both of Slaton, TX, 2 grandchildren, Courtney (Rackler) Tijerina and husband Jesse of Slaton, and Jared Rackler of Nashville, TN, 5 great grandchildren, Jesse, Martin, Cory and Jayson Tijerina and Bayleigh Rackler.
