Military memorial services for Roy Marlin Knight, 64, of Abernathy, TX, will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, December 28, 2013, at the Knight family farm East of Abernathy. Cremation services were under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. Mr. Knight died Sunday, December 15, 2013, in Lubbock, TX. He was born April 26, 1949 in Lubbock and marriede Jean Marie Gier in April 1991 in Gordonville, TX. He served in the United States Army for 7 years, part of which was served in Germany. He was the founder of "Riding to Cure, Jean Marie Gier-Knight Foundation" He is survived by his parents, T. A. Knight and Lola Heiser, both in Texas, 6 children, Clearance Allen Bryant of Ponder, TX, Dennis Wayne Knight of Omaha, NE, Christopher Gordon Bryant of Indianapolis, IN, Anna Maria Shawver of Ponder, TX, Shawn Russell Bryant of Denton, TX and Jon Michael Bryant of Ponder, TX, 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and a sister, Pauline Evans of Texas..
