Ronnie Hamilton

Services for Ronnie Hamilton, 65, of, Abernathy, TX, will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 22, 2017, in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Mike O'Donnell, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy. The family will gather to receive friends at Abell Funeral Home from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm Tuesday, February 21st. Mr. Hamilton died Saturday, February 18, 2017 in Lubbock. He was born February 28, 1951 in Lubbock, to J. W. and Maurine (McNeely) Hamilton. He was raised in the Abernathy area and married Crystal Ann Perkins December 18, 1970, in Commerce, TX. He served on the Abernathy Volunteer Fire Department and was a member of the Masonic Lodge where he served as Worshipful Master. The Hamilton family was honored as Farm Family of the Year in 1987 from the Abernathy Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of the Abernathy First Baptist Church where he served as Deacon and was involved in the powered parachutes. His life was his wife, children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Johnny Hamilton and a sister, Barbara Alsup. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Crystal of Abernathy, 2 sons, Rusty and wife Alyson of Lubbock, TX and Nicholas and wife Marion of Las Vegas, NV, 2 sisters, Janna Cheney of Tyler, TX and Elaine Lott of Wilson, TX and 2 grandchildren, A.J. and Chloe. The family suggests memorials be sent to the First Baptist Church, 411 7th Street, Abernathy, TX 79311 or to a preferred charity.
