Rola B. Covey Services for Rola B. Covey, 74, of Abernathy, TX were held at 10:00 am Saturday, November 15, 2003, in the Abernathy Church of Christ with Steve Gauntt and David Bennett officiating. Burial followed in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, TX. Mrs. Covey died Thursday, November 13, 2003, in Lubbock, TX. She was born on June 11, 1929 in Abernathy, and married W. A. "Corky" Covey on January 7, 1949 in Abernathy. She owned and operated Covey Insurance Agency until retiring in 1997. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by 2 sons, Oscar Allen Covey, January 27, 1955 and Noe Jeff Covey, February 19, 1968. She is survived by; husband, W. A. "Corky" Covey of Abernathy, TX, 1 son, Smith Wayne "Smitty" Covey of Manasas, VA 2 daughters, Rickie Vasek of Abernathy, TX and Tina McNeill of Happy, TX. 6 grandchildren, LeAnn McCusker, Wayne Covey, Tamber and Koby Vasek, Blake and Kelsea McNeill.
