Roger Sanders

Funeral services for Roger L. Sanders, 72, of Hale Center, TX, were held Friday, June 3, 2005, at 2:00 pm at the Hale Center Church of Christ with Charles Cook officiating and Floyd Waters assisting. Burial followed in the Center Plains Cemetery, Cotton Center, TX, under the direction of Freeman-Abell Funeral Home of Hale Center, TX. Mr. Sanders died Wednesday, June 1, 2005, in Plainview, TX. He was born May 7, 1933 in Daugherty, TX and was raised in Floydada, where he lived until moving to Cotton Center in 1972. He served in the United States Army from 1954 until 1957, stationed in Germany. He married Doris Jean Waters, July 2, 1960 in Hale Center. They moved to Hale Center in 1997. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Doris Sanders of Hale Center, TX, 2 sons; Gary Sanders of Elkhart, TX and Terry Sanders of Lubbock, TX, a daughter, Sherry Williams of Hale Center, TX, 2 brothers, Richard Sanders and Curtis Sanders both of Floydada, TX, a sister, Martha Sargent of Austin, TX and 4 grandchildren.
