Memorial services for Robert Kenneth (Bobby) McAlister, 81, of Lubbock, TX and formerly of Abernathy, TX, were held at 11:00 am Saturday, September 18, 2010,in the Sunset Church of Christ, Lubbock, with Dr. Ken Jones officiating. The family gathered in the Chapel area of the Church Saturday morning from 10:15 am until service time to greet friends. Services were under the direction of Abell Funeral Home and Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. He was born June 2, 1929 to Robert Alonzo and Irene (Horton) McAlister in Abernathy, TX. He married Mary Loyce Lambert on July 29, 1950 in Abernathy and she preceded him in death on November 10, 2004. He was a former member of the Abernathy City Council and the Abernathy Lions Club. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Stephanie Fannin Gray in 2001. He is survived by a son, Perry McAlister and wife Dianna and a daughter, Marilyn Fannin and husband Stephen all of Lubbock, TX, 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and a brother, James Horton McAlister of Willis, TX.
