Rosary for Robert G. Garcia, 65, of Hale Center, TX, were held at 7:00 pm Wednesday, December 28, 2011, in St. Theresa's Catholic Church. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10:00 am Thursday, December 29, 2011, in the same church. Burial followed in the Hale Center Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Hale Center, TX. He was born May 14, 1946 in Grant, Michigan. He married Maria Sonia Flores on April 30, 1999 in Plainview, TX. He was a vineyard contractor for 40 years, and then worked at Quarterway Gin for the next 20 years. He had moved to Hale Center from Plainview, TX in 1990. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Plainview. He is survived by his wife Sonia Garcia of Hale Center, 2 sons, Robert G. Garcia, Jr. of Houston, TX, and Gerardo Garcia of Austin, TX, 2 daughters, Melissa Gutierrez of Odessa, TX and Jasmine Garcia of Austin, TX, 3 brothers, Joe Garcia of Hale Center, Luis Garcia and Eddie Garcia both of Lubbock, TX, 2 sisters, Gracie Ruvalcaba and Ulga Garcia both of Lubbock, TX and 5 grandchildren.
