Graveside services for Rejino T. "Ray" Gerhardt, 79, of Hale Center, TX, will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, November 8, 2014, in the Hale Center Cemetery, under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Hale Center, TX. Viewing will be held at Abell Funeral Home, Friday from 12:00 pm until 5:00 pm. Mr. Gerhardt died Wednesday, November 5, 2014, in Lubbock, TX. He was born July 12, 1935 to Alberto and Florencia (Trujillo) Gerhardt, in Yeso, NM. He married Margaret Lopez November 14, 1953 in Plainview, TX. He was a longtime Hale Center resident and was a carpenter, helping build homes, concrete work and plumbing. He is survived by his wife Margaret Gerhardt of Hale Center, TX, 7 children, Cynthia Urbano of Albuquerque, NM, Vivian Garcia of Lubbock, TX, Brenda Castillo of Hart, TX. Bo Gerhardt and Steve Gerhardt both of Hale Center, TX, Linda Bell and Patrick Gerhardt both of San Antonio, TX, 2 brothers, Dennis Gerhardt of Ft. Worth, TX and George Gerhardt of Rupert, ID, 16 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
