Burial followed in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, TX. Mr. Bufe died on Friday, April 19, 2002, in Lubbock, TX. He was born on February 10, 1929 in Lubbock County, TX. He graduated from New Deal High School in 1946 and married Ann Speer on February 10, 1960 in Lubbock. He served on the New Deal School Board for 18 years, and was a member of the New Deal Volunteer Fire Dept. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the New Deal Lions Club. He had also served on several Gin Boards. Survivors; wife, Ann Bufe of New Deal, TX, 1 son, Darrell Bufe of New Deal, TX, 2 daughters, Donna Garcia of New Deal, TX, and Sonya Bufe of Tampa, FL. 1 brother, Wilford Bufe of Hale Center, TX. 4 grandchildren The family suggests memorials be sent to a favorite charity.
