Ramona Betancur

Rosary for Ramona G. Betancur, 77, of Abernathy, TX were recited at 7:30 pm Wednesday and Thursday evenings at St. Isidore Catholic Church with Rev. Arnold Bravo, pastor, officiating. Funeral mass was celebrated at 11:00 am Friday, February 20, 2004, in the same church with the same officiant. Burial followed in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, TX. Mrs. Betancur died Tuesday, February 17, 2004, at her home in Abernathy. She was born December 1, 1925 in Cuba, N.M. She moved to Abernathy in 1947 and married Magdaleno Q. Betancur in 1948 in Lubbock, TX. He preceded her in death October 29, 2002. She was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church, the Altar Society and Crusillistas. She is survived by; 2 sons, Arturo Betancur of Lubbock, TX, and Johnny Gonzales of Arlington, TX. 1 daughter, Candy Vasquez of Abernathy, TX. 1 brother, Filimon Gonzales of Rio Rancho, N.M. 3 sisters, Adelina Padilla of Gallup, N.M., Martina Chavez of Bernalillo, N.M. and Pabla of Abluquerque, N.M. 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
