Pearl Knox

Pearl Knox, born Winnie Pearl Smith, 74, of Abernathy, TX, died Thursday, June 19, 2014, in Lubbock, TX. Born in Clovis, NM, January 12, 1940 to Dan and Alta Mae (McGruder) Smith of Melrose, NM. Pearl married Jim Knox on July 31, 1972. She was an avid reader and a loyal fan of Texas Tech's Red Raiders and Lady Raiders, The San Antonio Spurs and the Texas Rangers. Pearl is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, C.O. Smith of Santa Fe, NM. She is survived by her husband, Jim and daughter, Wendy Jo Riggs and her husband Eddie. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am Monday, June 23, 2014, in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX.
