Graveside services for Paul Garcia, 75, of Lubbock, TX, will be held at 11:30 am Friday, February 2, 2024, in the Abernathy Cemetery with Rev. Brian Wood, Pastor of St. Isidore Catholic Church, officiating. The family will gather to receive friends from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, Friday, February 2, 2024, at Abell Funeral Home. Services are under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. Mr. Garcia died at his home in Lubbock, Monday, January 29, 2024. Paul was born April 10, 1948 to Bruno and Guadalupe (Martinez) Garcia, in Corpus Christi, TX. The family moved from Anton, TX to Abernathy in 1965 and he graduated Abernathy High School. Paul loved reading the newspaper and books and enjoyed most sports, especially the Kansas City Chiefs football. His life work showed his care and concern for others, as he was a caretaker for older people. Paul last cared for Gid and Marie Adkisson in Abernathy for over 10 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 siblings, Tony Garcia, Aurora Garcia, Amador Garcia and Susie Garcia. Paul is survived by 2 daughters, Petra Galvan and Pablo of Lubbock, TX and Michelle Garcia and Margaret also of Lubbock, 4 grandchildren, Johnathan Garcia, Danielle Mendoza, Amelia Galvan and Natalia Galvan. He is also survived by 4 great grandchildren, Benjamin Garcia, Gabriel Alvarado, Jace Mendoza and Javi Mendoza and 9 siblings, Angie Tovar, Anita Garcia, Abel Garcia, Armando Garcia, Bruno Garcia, Jr., Alberta Olivares, Dianne Garcia, Joel Garcia and Jesse Garcia.
