Patsy Newsom

Services for Patsy (Todd) Newsom, 73, of Lubbock, TX, were held at 2:00 pm Friday, September 19, 2008 at Abell Funeral Home, Abernathy, TX. Bill Starcher, Tommy Stell and Dan Vaughn officiated. Burial followed in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home and Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. Mrs. Newsom died Tuesday, September 16, 2008, in Lubbock, TX. She was born in Welch, TX, September 14, 1935 and was married to Glenn Newsom for 53 years. Patsy was a member of the Lubbock Arboretum and Lubbock Garden Club. She served as former secretary/treasurer for the Lubbock Master Gardeners. Besides gardening she also loved to paint. Patsy was also a longtime member of the Broadway Church of Christ. Survivors include her husband, Glenn and a sister, Bonnie Todd of Lubbock, TX, her two daughters, Stephanie Mitchell of Austin, TX and Sharon Vaughn of Mt. Aetna, PA, 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandsons. The Newsom family would like to offer a special thanks to the employees of Elmwood House, Rosa, Beth, Lisa and Trish for the loving care they had for Patsy.
