Opal Williams

Graveside Services for Opal Williams, 94, of Hale Center, TX were held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, February 13, 2007, in the Plainview Memorial Park in Plainview, TX with Rev. Jimmy Cameron officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Freeman-Abell Funeral Home of Hale Center, TX. Mrs. Williams died at her residence in Hale Center on Saturday, February 10, 2007. She was born June 27, 1912 in Harlingen, TX. She moved to Hale Center when she was 7 years old and graduated from Hale Center High School in 1930. She married Herschel Alston Williams on October 17, 1930 in Lubbock, TX. She retired from Hale Center Co-op Elevator in Mayfield as a bookkeeper when the business closed. She was a member of First United Methodist Church where she played the organ for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herschel Williams on December 6, 1966 and her son, Cecil Everett Williams. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, P.O.
