Oneida Louise Davis

Graveside services for Oneida Davis, 94, of Hempstead, TX will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, November 12, 2020, in the Abernathy Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. Mrs. Davis died Thursday, October 29, 2020 in Hempstead. She was born July 19, 1926 in Stillwater, OK, to John Robert and Addis (Cheek) Sumner. She married Johnnie Davis July 17, 1943 in Lubbock, TX. She lived in Abernathy until 1966 when they moved to Washington and later went Arizona before returning to Texas. She was a member of the Abernathy First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Johnnie Davis, April 26, 1996 and son-in-law, Hershell Pruitt. She is survived by her children, Virginia L. Pruitt of Lincoln, TX and Robert Davis and wife Patricia of Hempstead, TX, grandchildren, Brent Finney, Kimberly Pruitt, Martha Pruitt Alexander, Christy Davis and Scott Davis, and 7 great grandchildren.
