Services for Neva Lee Calvert, 92, of Abernathy, TX, were held at 2:00 pm Sunday, January 17, 2004, in the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Jerry Don Cheshire, pastor, officiating. Burial followed in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, TX. Ms. Calvert died Thursday, January 15, 2004, in Lubbock, TX. She was born August 12, 1911, in Carter County, OK, to Frank M. and Genie Jackson Staples. She moved to Abernathy in 1936 from Oklahoma. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Bobbie Wayne Calvert, at age 3, May 20, 1932, one sister and 2 brothers. Memorials have been suggested to a favorite charity. Abell Funeral Home
