Nettie Young

Funeral services for Nettie Estelle Young, 96, of Abernathy, TX, were held at 2:00 pm Friday, July 21, 2006, in the Assembly of God with Rev. Merle Lindsey and Rev. Norman Lindsey officiating. Burial followed in the Strip/Pearce Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, TX. Mrs. Young died at her home, Monday, July 17, 2006, in Abernathy. She was born December 29, 1909 to the late Alexander and Maudie Gallagher outside of Sweetwater, TX. She married W. A. "Buck" Young February 9, 1933 in Clovis, N. M. She was a homemaker. She had been a lifelong Abernathy area resident and was a member of the Assembly of God. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Arthur Young a son, E. J. Young and a daughter, Betty Lois Tant, a grandson, Berry Neal Young and a granddaughter, Tracy Leathdon Payne. She is survived by her 2 daughters, Nadine Joseph and Donna Young both of Abernathy, TX, a sister, Veda Bussard of Willits, CA. 14 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
