Services for Neoma Kiser Rogers, 88, of Plainview, TX, were held at 10:00 am Friday, January 10, 2003, in the First Baptist Church Chapel, Plainview, TX, with Rev. Travis Hart, pastor, officiating. Burial followed in the Hale Center Cemetery, Hale Center, TX, under the direction of Freeman-Abell Funeral Home of Hale Center, TX. Mrs. Rogers died Tuesday, January 7, 2003, in Plainview, TX. She was born April 24, 1914, in Pontotoc, OK. She moved to Hale Center in March of 1925 with her parents. She graduated from Hale Center High School in 1932, and attended West Texas State Teachers College in Canyon, TX, now known as WTAMU. They moved in 1942 to Wichita, KS and she was employed by Cessna Aircraft and at that time she also played semi-pro basketball. She returned to Hale Center in 1945. She married Dale "Preacher" Rogers on January 11, 1947 in Hale Center. In 1958, they moved their family to Plainview, TX. She was a member of the Plainview First Baptist Church and taught Sunday School in Adult II Department for 25 years. She was a member of the Terrell Sunday School Class where she was associate teacher and a charter member of the Millenium Singers. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters, a brother and an infant son; Jerry Bob Rogers. Survivors Husband, Dale "Preacher" Rogers of Plainview, TX. 1 son, Billy Rogers and his wife Kathy of Canyon, TX. 4 grandchildren, Chris Rogers and his wife Susan of Amarillo, TX, Kaci and her husband Scotty Powers of Lubbock, TX, and Katy Rogers of Austin, TX. 2 great grandchildren, Morgan Rogers of Amarillo, TX and Thomas Powers of Lubbock, TX.
