Neoma Berry

Services for Neoma Strickland Berry, 84, of Hale Center, TX, were held at 2:00 pm Monday, March 7, 2005, in the First Baptist Church with Dr. Carroll Green officiating. Burial was in the Hale Center Cemetery under the direction of Freeman-Abell Funeral Home of Hale Center, TX. Mrs. Berry died March 5, 2005 at Prairie House Living Center in Plainview, TX. She was born April 27, 1920 in Haskell, TX, to John Farrell & Lizzie Strickland. She married A.S. "Mutt" Berry on January 30, 1937, he preceded her in death on March 1, 1990. She moved to Hale Center from Lamesa in 1951, and worked alongside her husband farming and in the cotton ginning business. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Hale Center. Mrs. Berry was preceded in death by a daughter, Beth Short. She is survived by a daughter, Elwanda Borchardt and her husband, Roy of Hale Center, TX, 2 sons, Sidney Berry and wife Janis of Hale Center, TX, and John Berry and his wife Nina of Plainview, TX, 8 grandsons, Zach, Mark and Bill Short, Berry & Greg Borchardt, Alan, Shane and Araon Berry. 10 great grandchildren, Tanitha Anderson, Kolton, Skott and Selina Short, Courtney and Jeremy Short, Steven and Katelynn Short, Sarah & Seth Berry,and a great great grandchild, Nevin Anderson Abell Funeral Home
