Myrna Davis

Myrna Davis Services for Myrna Davis, 87, of Abernathy, TX, were held at 2:00 pm Saturday, October 18, 2003, in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Les Griffin and Rev. John Lowrie officiating. Burial followed in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy. Mrs. Davis died Thursday, October 16, 2003, in Lubbock, TX. She was born September 21, 1916 and married Ralph Edward Davis November 4, 1939 in Groom, TX, they moved to Abernathy that same year. She was a member of the Abernathy First Baptist Church, the Senior Citizens and was a charter member of the Abernathy Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Davis was also a member of the 1935 Study Club and the Abernathy Art Club. She served as a volunteer for the the American Heart Association and served on the Hi Plains Hospital Board in Hale Center, TX. She was preceded in death in by a daughter, Patsy Davis in 1956 and her husband on June 7, 1985. She is survived by; 2 daughters, Peggy Davis of Lubbock, TX, and Pamela Dobies and her husband Ed of Houston, TX. 1 grandson, Kenneth Dobies of Houston, TX. 1 niece, Doris Durrett of Abernathy, TX. 1 foster daughter, Ruth Naron of Abernathy, TX. The family suggests memorials to the Abernathy Cemetery Association or to the First Baptist Church. Abell Funeral Home
