Mozelle Goble

Services for Mozelle Goble, 88, of Lubbock, TX were held at 2:00 pm Monday, December 28, 2009, in the New Deal First Baptist Church with Rev. Syl Moore officiating. Burial followed in Resthaven Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home and Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. Ms. Goble died Saturday, December 26, 2009, in Lubbock, TX. She was born August 16, 1921 in Lubbock to Ellis Bryan Martin and Clara (Barnes) Martin. She graduated from Lubbock High School and attended Texas Tech. She served in the Women's Armory Corps and worked as an Intelligence Officer at the Pentagon. She was a member of the New Deal First Baptist Church, was a charter member of the Abernathy Riding Club, she farmed and was devoted to raising her 4 children. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Goble Murrah and 2 brothers, Bayless Martin and Keith Martin. She is survived by 3 children, J. C. Goble, Gary Goble and Lynn Goble and his wife Tina, all of Abernathy, TX, 2 grandchildren, John Ellis Goble and Mary Francis Goble also of Abernathy. She is survived by one sister, Theresa Martin of Lubbock, TX. The family suggests memorials be sent to the New Deal First Baptist Church, P. O. Box 237, New Deal, TX 79350. The family would also like to express their appreciation for the care their Mother received while living at Golden Estates in Abernathy and during her care by Hospice of Lubbock. Abell Funeral Home
