Minnie Presley

Services for Minnie V. Presley, 86, of Abernathy, TX, were held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 15, 2003, in the Abernathy First Baptist Church with Rev. John Lowrie, pastor, officiating. Burial followed in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, TX. Mrs. Presley died Monday, January 13, 2003, in Lubbock, TX. She was born on February 4, 1916 in Goree, TX. She moved to Slaton with her family in 1921, and graduated Union School, west of Slaton. She married R. D. Presley on January 24, 1933 in Slaton, TX, and he preceded her in death on February 20, 1992. She and her husband farmed in the County Line, TX community until moving to Abernathy in 1974. She had been a member of the County Line Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for 30 years, and was presently a member of the Abernathy First Baptist Church. Survivors; 1 son, Don Presley and his wife, Jerry Nell of Abernathy, TX. 1 daughter, Angela Pope and her husband Milton of Abernathy, TX. 1 sister, Christine Day of Clovis, N.M. 1 brother, George Gamble of Slaton, TX. 8 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren, Ron Presley and his wife Lisa of Levelland, TX and their children, Aaron, Marcus and Mollie. Steve Presley and his wife Teri of Lubbock, TX, and their children, Anthony, Asa and Audrey. Tim Presley and his wife Shauwna of Lubbock, TX and their children, Layne, Loran, Tatum, Tess and Clancey. Jana Rauschbaum of El Paso, TX and her children Jeremy and Marla. Lori Hoerman and her husband Brent of Abernathy, TX and their children, Sami, Brooke and Konnor. Jaci Earnest and her husband Ray of Lamesa, TX and their children, Joshua, Rikki and Caleb. DelRay Pope and his wife Barbie of Pilot Point, TX and their child, Brayson. Cami Southall and her husband James of Borger, TX and their children Hali and Hayden.
