Graveside services for Melvina Johnson, 84, of Hale Center, TX were held at 3:00 PM Thursday, April 21, 2005, in the Abernathy Cemetery with Dr. Carroll Green, pastor of First Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are by Freeman-Abell Funeral Home of Hale Center, TX. Mrs. Johnson died April 19, 2005 at Care Inn of Plainview, TX. She was born September 6, 1920 in Eldarado, OK. She married Adron Murvin Johnson January 14, 1938 in Matador, TX, he preceded her in death January 10, 1985. She is also preceded in death by a son, 3 brothers and a sister. She is survived by 2 sons, Ed Johnson of Hale Center, TX and James Johnson of West Columbia, TX, a daughter, Janet Perkinson of Hale Center, TX, 2 sisters, Dorothy McKnight of Plainview, TX and Joyce Egull of Beaumont, TX, 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren and a great great great grandchild.
