Mary Olivares

Graveside services for Mary Lucio Olivares, 79, of Lubbock, TX, were held at 1:00 pm Thursday, in the Abernathy Cemetery with Rev. Joel Perez officiating. Services were under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, TX. She died Monday, March 27, 2006, in Lubbock, TX. Mrs. Olivares was born June 30, 1926 in San Antonio, TX and married Joe Olivares, May 25, 1943 in Corpus Christi, TX. He preceded her in death November 29, 2000. She had been an Abernathy resident for many years prior to moving to Lubbock in September of 2005. She was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy in April of 1979. She is survived by her 3 sons, Joe Olivares, JR., of Houston, TX, Lisandro Olivares of Hemett, CA and Roy Valdez of Lewisville, TX, 2 daughters, Otillia Vega of Edmund, OK and Julia O. Jara of Lubbock, TX, 2 sisters, Sara Cortex of Corpus Christi, Tx, and Juanita Rojas of Midland, TX, 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Abell Funeral Home
