Mary Mcalister

Services for Mary Loyce McAlister, 73, of Abernathy, TX, were held at 2:00 pm Friday, November 12, 2004, in the Abernathy Church of Christ with David Bennett and Condy Billingsley officiating. Burial followed services in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, TX. Mrs. McAlister died Wednesday, November 10, 2004, in Lubbock, TX. She was born September 20, 1931 in Vernon, TX to Loyce W. and Nancy Lucille (Holland) Lambert. She moved to Abernathy in 1942 from Vernon, TX and married Bobby McAlister, July 29, 1950 in Abernathy. She was a member of the Junior Study Club and Sunset Church of Christ. She was employed with Texas Tech University until her retirement. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, Keith, Charles and Elza Lambert, and a granddaughter, Stephanie Fannin Gray. She is survived by her husband, Bobby of Abernathy, TX, a son, Perry McAlister and his wife Dianna of Lubbock, TX, one daughter, Marilyn Fannin and her husband Stephen of Lubbock, 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
