Graveside services for Marvin "Kink" Patterson, 74, of Abernathy, TX, were held Monday, January 17, 2005, in the Abernathy Cemetery with David Bennett officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, TX. Mr. Patterson died Saturday, January 15, 2005, in Abernathy, TX. He was born May 20, 1930 in Risco, Missouri. He married Maxine Clowers December 2, 1948 in Pocahontas, Ark. He moved to Abernathy in 1961 from County Line, TX. He was employed as the City Manager in Elgin and Bastrop, TX. He worked for the City Public Works in Schertz, TX and then in Abernathy for 12 years. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Maxine Patterson of Abernathy, TX, a son Nick Patterson and his wife Debbie of Pearland, TX, a daughter Janie Parrish and her husband Jim of Abernathy, TX, 2 brothers, Paul Patterson and his wife Charlene of Sikeston, Missouri, James R. Patterson and his wife Glenda of Farmers Branch, TX, 4 sisters, Rebecca Campbell of Lodi, CA, Myra Roberta Kent and her husband J. D. of Charleston, Missouri, Shirley May Ritchey and husband Robert of Charleston, Missouri, Joyce Linda Browne and her husband Keith of Spokane, Washington, 3 grandchildren, Lance Patterson of San Francisco, CA, Chris Patterson and his wife Jill of Pearland and Ashely Parrish of Lubbock, TX, and 2 great granddaughters, Abby and Olivia Patterson.
