Graveside services for Marshall Dale Caldwell, 76, of Slaton, TX, will be held at 10:00 am Monday, July 14, 2014, in the Center Plains Cemetery, Cotton Center, TX, under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Hale Center, TX. Mr. Marshall died Saturday, July 12, 2014, in Lubbock, TX. He was born November 27, 1937 in Plainview, TX to R. P. "Pat" and Sally Mozell (Wilson) Caldwell. He drove a truck for various companies prior to purchasing his own truck and had driven all over the United States and 3 Provinces in Canada. He loved history, and especially Texas History. He had lived in Plainview, Ft. Worth, Amarillo, Lubbock and Slaton, TX. He was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Caldwell, Sister, Mary Ann Caldwell and 2 children, Kenneth Dale Caldwell and Vanessa Caldwell Gilmore, wife Juanita Dewbre. He is survived by his son Darren Caldwell of Amarillo, TX, a brother Clifton Caldwell and wife Ann of Lubbock, TX, his partner Kay Dorman of Slaton, 5 grandchildren, Jared Caldwell, Contessa Pernner, Christopher Gilmore, Danielle Gilmore and Teresa Bustamonte and 12 great grandchildren.
