Marcos Villegas passed away on October 30, 2026, in Lubbock, Texas. He was born on May 11, 1976, in Chicago, Illinois to Horacio B. and Noemi (Paez) Villegas. He was raised in Chicago until the age of seven, when his family moved to Abernathy, a community that remained an important part of his life.

Marcos received his high school education and was active in school, where he played trumpet and cornet in the high school band. He also played right offense as an Abernathy Antelope. Those who knew him will remember a man who was very outgoing, kind, respectful, and always positive. He worked in appliance repair. Outside of work, Marcos found joy in the simple and meaningful parts of life. He loved spending time with his family and having cookouts, and he enjoyed karaoke. He especially loved hearing his daughter Eva sing and play the piano, a memory that will remain close to the hearts of those who shared it with him.

Marcos is survived by his children, Marco Xavier Villegas, Isys Nicole Villegas and husband Augie Madrid, Eva Lillianna Villegas, Jacob Villegas and wife Grace and Kyrie Rae'n Villegas. He is lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Anthony Madrid, Miguel Cantu, Ja’Marie Villegas, Gi’Anna Villegas, and Janelle Villegas. And his ex wife Melissa VanHoose.
