Rosary for Manuela Martinez Garcia, 82, of Hale Center, TX, was recited at 7:00 pm Sunday evening, December 14, 2008, at St. Theresas Catholic Church in Hale Center. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 2:00 pm Monday, December 15, 2008, in the same church with Rev. John Smith, pastor, officiating. Burial followed in the Hale Center Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Hale Center, TX. Mrs. Garcia died Friday, December 12, 2008, in Plainview, TX. She was born December 17, 1925 in Elroy, TX. She married Genaro Garcia, Sr. She was a longtime Hale Center resident and a longtime member of St. Theresas Catholic Church where she was also involved with the Guadalupanos. She is preceded in death by her husband, Genaro Garcia, Sr, a sister, Merce Gomez, and a great granddaughter, Isabel Rocha. She is survived by 8 children, Gloria Calderon of Euless, TX, Georgia Castillo of Haltom City, TX, Johnny Joe Garcia of Lubbock, TX, Linda Hinojosa of North Richland Hills, TX, Ricky Garcia of Ozark, Ark., Lupe Castillo, Genaro Garcia, Jr. and Christine Reyna all of Hale Center, TX. Her surviving siblings are Simon Martinez, Raquel Gomez and Leopoldo Martinez all of Hale Center, TX and Angie Martinez of Lubbock, TX, 19 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Abell Funeral Home
