Services for Mahoma "Pat" Mann, 83, were held Monday, October 2, 2006 at 9th & Columbia Church of Christ, Plainview, TX, with Culquitt Nash and Wayne Horton officiating. Burial followed in the Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Freeman-Abell Funeral Home in Hale Center, TX. Mrs. Mann died at her daughter's residence on September 28, 2006 in Plainview, TX. She was born November 22, 1922 in Dodson, TX and married Luther Franklin Mann on June 14, 1945 in Elizabeth City, NC. He preceded her in death August 11, 1995. She served in the United States Coast Guard from 1942 until 1945 as a radio operator, during World War II. She moved to Plainview in 1952 and baked and decorated cakes for the public and was well known for her wedding cakes. She had been a Girl Scouts leader and a member of the PTA in Plainview and was a member of the 9th & Columbia Church of Christ. Survivors include 4 daughters, Laura Y. Smith of Plainview, TX, Sylvia Hatton and her husband Johnnie of Dade City, FL, Dana Moon and her husband Mike of Elkhart, TX and Cathryn Hughes of Plainview, TX, a son, Shelby Luther Mann of Amarillo, TX 1 sister, Ruby Holland of Mississippi, 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. The family would like memorial contributions to go the Veteran's Administration in Amarillo, TX. Abell Funeral Home
