Rosary for Lusia O. Lara was recited Thursday, May 6, 2010 in St. Isidore Catholic Church. Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday morning, May 7, 2010 in the same church. Burial followed in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home and Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. Mrs. Lara died Tuesday, May 4, 2010 in Round Rock, TX. She was born August 8, 1931 in Kennedy, TX. She married John L. Lara, Sr in Roswell, NM. He preceded her in death in 1996. She had been a resident of Abernathy from 1954 until 1999, and in 2000 she moved to Leander, TX. She was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church. She is survived by 9 children, John Lara, Jr, Carol Lara, Raymond Lara, Ernestine Aguirre, Lorenzo Lara, Rosa Anna Jackson, Felipe Lara, Paul Lara and Sandra Rodriguez. She is also survied by a sister, Mina Chadez and 2 brothers, Victor Salazar and Juan Salazar, 30 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Abell Funeral Home
