Graveside services for Lucille Howard Phillips, 83, of Amarillo, Tx., and formerly of Abernathy, Tx., were held at 1:30 pm, Tuesday, October 30, 2001, in the Abernathy Cemetery with Jeff Petillo officiating. Services were under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, Tx. Mrs. Phillips died Sunday, October 28, 2001, in Amarillo, Tx. She was born on October 23, 1918 in Montague County, Tx., to Buck and Myra Howard. She moved to Abernathy, Tx., with her parents at a young age. She graduated from Abernathy High School. She had worked as a waitress and restaurant owner in Lubbock, Tx., and Amarillo, Tx. She was a Baptist. One grandchild preceded her in death. Survivors; 1 Son; Alvin Sublett and his wife Dixie of Lubbock, Tx. 1 Daughter; Daylene Cartwright and her husband Dan of Amarillo, Tx. 4 Grandchildren 11 Great Grandchildren The family suggests memorials be sent to Crown of Texas Hospice, 1000 S.
