Graveside services for Louise Smith Ceryance, 87, of Lubbock, TX, were held at 11:00 am Thursday, May 24, 2012, in the Jayton Cemetery, Jayton, TX under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Hale Center, TX. Mrs. Ceryance died Tuesday, May 22, 2012 in Lubbock. She was born April 3, 1925 in Stonewall County, TX to Byron Johnson (BJ) and Myrtle (White) Smith. She grew up in Jayton where she graduated from Jayton High School in 1943. She moved to Lubbock after graduation where she worked in the restaurant and jewelry business. She enjoyed travelling throughout Europe during the post World War II era. She also enjoyed travelling and living in many different places throughout the continental United States. She lived most of her life in California in the cities of Santa Monica, Fremont and Sacramento. She returned to Lubbock in 2003. She was preceded in death by a son, Don Nadel, 2 brothers, B. J. Smith, Jr. and Don Smith and her parents. She is survived by a sister, Ann Hardesty of Slaton, TX, 3 nieces, Raynie Sageser and husband Chris of Cotton Center, TX, Lisa Edmunds and husband Glenn of Slaton, TX and Reba DeLeune of Lubbock, TX, 2 nephews, Layne Hardesty of Slaton and Larry Smith of Cleburne, TX a great niece, Christalyn Sageser Parten and husband Chance of Abilene, TX and 2 great nephews, Jay Ray Sageser of Cotton Center and Nathan Edmunds of Lubbock.
