Services for Lottie Chastain, 86, of Abernathy, TX, were held at 2:00 pm Saturday, September 25, 2004, in the First Church of the Nazarene. Rev. Arlen Ankle and Rev. Gary Martin officiated. Burial followed in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, TX. Mrs. Chastain died Wednesday, September 22, 2004, in Lubbock, TX. She was born December 11, 1917 in Farmersville, TX. She married H. D. Chastain, December 3, 1933, in Farmersville, TX. They moved their family to Abernathy from Cotton Center in 1944, and had previously lived in Farmersville, TX. She was a member of the First Church of The Nazarene. She was preceded her in death by her husband, H. D. Chastain, June 5, 1996, and a granddaughter, Rhonda Mathis in 1983. She is survived by a son, Delton Chastain of Abernathy, TX, 3 daughters, Janet Mathis and her husband Larry of Odessa, TX, Frances Perkins and Tammy Doyle both of Abernathy, TX. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Rodney Perkins and his wife Esther of Amarillo, TX, Danna Brewer and her husband Keith of San Angelo, TX, Billy Mathis of Odessa, TX, Vicki Campbell of Abernathy, TX, Treasure Henson of San Saba, TX and Katlain Hayes of Lubbock, TX. Mrs. Chastain (Grannie) also is survived by her 6 great grandchildren, Autsin Mathis of Alpine, TX, Terrell Campbell of Anton, TX, Andrew Perkins and Elizabeth Perkins both of Amarillo, TX, Randa Mathis of Odessa, TX and Tristan Chancey of Abernathy, TX.
