Linda Paulette Prater

Services for Linda Paulette (McKay) Prater, 76, of Lubbock, TX will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 18, 2023 in the Church on the Rock South Campus with Pastor Robert Renteria officiating. Burial will follow in the Abernathy Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Abell Funeral Home and Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. Ms. Prater died on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 in Lubbock, TX. She was born on April 12, 1946 in Brownwood, TX to George LeRoy and Linnie Pearl (Evans) McKay. They lived in League City, TX during her childhood and she graduated from LaMarque High School in 1964. Linda moved to Midwest City, OK in 1965 and then to Lubbock in 1981. She was a kind, sweet, and generous mother, grandmother and friend who enjoyed surprising people with gifts. Linda enjoyed watching movies and reading. Linda is survived by her 2 sons Robert Prater and wife, Bilinda of Abernathy and Richard Lowell Prater of Lubbock, 3 grandchildren Jordan Prater and wife, Kirsten, of Abernathy, Griffin Prater and wife, Heather, of Lubbock, and Saralynn Valdez and husband, Dalton, of Quitaque, TX, 4 sisters Christina Faubus of Lubbock, Anna Moore and husband, Randy, of Bado, OK, Georgette Gilley and husband, James, of Sparks, OK, and Gina Stone of Lubbock, TX, and 2 great-grandchildren Cian and Jasper Prater.
