Leora Ginn

Services for Leora "Lee" Ginn, 88, of Lubbock, TX, will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, February 11, 2021, at Abell Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Harbison officiating. Burial will follow in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. Viewing will be held from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Wednesday, February 10th. Mrs. Ginn died at her home in Lubbock, Saturday, February 6, 2021. She was born April 4, 1932 in Cushing, OK to Melvin Henry and Leona Belle (Dutcher) Harris. She graduated Guthrie High School in Guthrie, OK. She married Charles Ginn January 19, 1967 in Lovington, NM. They lived in Lovington, NM, Big Spring and Lubbock, TX. While in Big Spring they owned and operated the Ponderosa Restaurant and ran Lee Ambulance Service. It was there that she was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Lee was an accomplished China painter, winning blue ribbons at both Lovington and Lubbock Fairs. She loved spending time outside and feeding birds. Mrs. Ginn was a huge football fan and especially loved Patrick Mahomes. She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by 3 siblings Leon Harris, Wilma Jean Kelly, and James Harris. She is survived by her Husband of 54 years, Charles Ginn of Lubbock, 5 children, Charles Ray Ginn and wife Diane of Corsicana, TX, Alan Lee Peters and wife Billie of McCamey, TX, Beverly Winn and husband Tim of Lubbock, Barbara Chenault of Lubbock and Danny Ginn and wife Lynette of Hale Center, TX, a brother, Donald Harris and wife Sarah of Tickmoore, AR, a sister Mary Ann Swanson and husband Charles of Guthrie, OK, 15 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and one on the way. The family suggests those attending services please wear a mask.
