Leon Koelder

Services for Leon Koelder, 80, of Hale Center, TX, were held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, September 11, 2004, in the Cotton Center First Baptist Church with Rev. J. D. Templeton officiating. Burial followed in the Center Plains Cemetery under the direction of Freeman-Abell Funeral Home of Hale Center, TX. Mr. Koelder died Tuesday, September 7, 2004, in Plainview, TX. Mr. Koelder was born October 14, 1923, at Hale Center, TX to Kino Koelder and Eva Sherman Koelder. He was raised in Cotton Center, and lived in Clovis a few years until moving back to Cotton Center in 1991. He was a member of the Cotton Center First Baptist Church. He is survived by a son, David Koelder and his wife Hazel of Houston, TX, one daughter, Glenna Clark and her partner Jeff Bechdol of Gallup, NM, a brother, Ervin Koelder and his wife Tillie of Plainview, TX, a sister-in-law, Patsy Koelder of Groom, TX. He is also survived by one grandson, Tad Clark and his wife Brandi of Cotton Center, 4 step grandchildren, Kristie, Shawni, T.J. and Casey Bechdol of Gallup, NM, 2 great grandchildren, Cody and Savannah Clark of Cotton Center, TX, and one step great grandchild, Aubrey Bechdol of Gallup, NM. Viewing will be held Saturday from 1:00 pm until service time at the First Baptist Church in Cotton Center. The family suggests memorials be sent to a favorite charity. Abell Funeral Home
