Graveside services for Lawrence Fletcher "Pete" Peacock, 82, of Abernathy, TX were held at 10:00 am Wednesday, August 3, 2011 in the Abernathy Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Abell Funeral Home and Flower Shop of Abernathy. The family received friends at Abell Funeral Home, Tuesday evening from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Mr. Peacock died Monday Morning, August 1, 2011, in Lubbock, TX. He was born June 16, 1929 in McGehee, Ark. He married Fannie Delanie Harrell on October 3, 1946 in Lake Village, Ark. They lived in the Abernathy area for 51 years. He owned and operated Peacock Shamrock in Abernathy for 30 years. He was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Edward Peacock He is survived by his wife Fannie D. Peaccock of Abernathy, TX, 2 daughters, Mary Bennett ( Mack ) of Bartlett, TN and Peggy Duffey ( Wayne ) of Lubbock, TX, 5 grandchildren, Melissa Styles Sellers (Hardy), Brent Styles ( Mandy), Jaime Styles Peternell (Jason), Cory Duffey (Misti) and Amber Duffey Kirk (Dallas) and 10 great grandchildren, Mary-Kate Sellers, Megan Clark (Meggie) Sellers, Matthew Hardy Sellers, Chloe Anne Styles, Cullen Fletcher Styles, Benjamin Taylor Peternell, Tyler Wayne Duffey, Cade Michael Duffey, Kolton Ray Kirk, Brooklyn Ruth Kirk and 2 brother-in-laws, J. C. Harrell (Elida) of Lubbock, TX and Henry Harrell (Pat) of Abernathy, TX and a half-sister, Lorene Peacock.
